Commissioned for the 2015 Melbourne Fringe Uncommon Places project, How to Behave is a site-responsive audio piece situated in Grattan Gardens, Prahran, Melbourne.

The public discourse surrounding women’s safety in public spaces, particularly parks, can be jarring, reductive and contradictory. These conversations tend to centre on the dangers of being a woman in public space, posing restrictions on freedom of movement and autonomy as the ultimate solution.

Who does public space belong to? Who feels a sense of ownership? How do we engage with public space, and can we make it more accessible?

Listen. Walk with me. Listen.
